Job Description

Our Parker Library has an opening for a FT (40 hrs/wk) Circulation Supervisor of Library Materials Handling. This is an excellent supervisory position for the right candidate. The position is responsible for managing all materials handling duties including processing, shelving and retrieving library materials, straightening and reading shelves. Partners frequently with the Circulation Supervisor – Patron Services for general circulation services department operations. Responsible for hiring and coaching, scheduling, training, problem solving, project management and change agent activities on a wide range of staffing and procedural issues.

Additional Info & Requirements

Starting salary is $3094/mo. w/FT benefits available, but salary could be increased to be commensurate with experience/skills. General knowledge of library circulation practices is preferred, and excellent leadership and communication skills and strong customer service skills are required. Bachelor’s degree in any field and two years of supervisory experience required, and two years’ experience with library circulation duties or bookstore retail preferred. Days, evenings and some weekend hours required. Strong general computer skills required. Position requires ability to stand for several hours per shift, to bend to floor level and to reach a height over 70 inches. Must be able to push movable carts loaded to a maximum of 250 pounds, carry 10 pounds and lift up to 35 pounds.
