Job Description

The successful candidate joining our JCPL Finance team, located in Lakewood, CO, will review, assess and process purchase requisitions.  They will expedite orders, research commodities, services and vendors, as well as maintain accurate purchasing files and documentation. If you have the skills to perform the essential duties of this position and if you are looking for an opportunity in a public organization where you can make a difference in your community, we enthusiastically encourage you to apply!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Process purchase requisitions for supplies, materials, equipment and services.
  • Confer with Division representatives and modify requisitions as necessary. 
  • Obtain prices by contacting vendors, evaluate bids received and create bid recaps.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints and inquiries from internal and external customers pertaining to purchases, receipts and invoices.
  • Research commodity and service availability, price trends, sources, quality standards, and cooperative price agreements to ensure a maximum competitive environment for all County procurements. 
  • Determine required level of management approval, if contract is ready for execution, and required signatures.
  • Maintain purchasing files to ensure all required documentation for purchasing projects and purchase orders are available for audit and/or historical reference.

  • 1 year Procurement experience in government or non-profit preferred.
  • Analytical judgment and decision-making skills required.
  • Intermediate reading, writing and math skills required.
  • Certified Professional Procurement Buyer (CPPB) from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) at time of hire or within 2 years of hire.
