Mon, Tues, Wed and Thursday 5-8 pm; Saturday 9-5. $11.50-12.00/hour.

Basic Function: Performs a variety of standard clerical and paraprofessional duties in the children’s reading room. Shelves materials. Provides reader’s advisory and circulation services.
Physical Requirements: Hearing and vision corrected to normal ranges. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and push a loaded book truck weighing 120 pounds. Ability to reach up to seven feet to retrieve and replace books with a stool or ladder, as needed.
Qualifications: Associates degree preferred. High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required. One year of library experience or experience working with children. Ability to learn to operate equipment as required by the position; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and library patrons. Familiarity with personal computers and appropriate software required. Requires a valid Colorado driver’s license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides efficient, courteous public service and presents a positive image of the library in attitude, appearance and performance of duties.
In the absence of the Children’s Manager, supervises unit activities.
Clerical tasks, as needed.
Shelves library materials. Maintains order of the collection to facilitate public access to resources.
Provides reader’s advisory service for parents and youth.
Provides library tours for WSD#3 elementary schools, as well as scout groups, church groups, and daycares, as needed.
Maintains summer reading program files and distribution of prizes.
Work in adult area as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to keep confidential records and perform routine tasks; learn library methods, techniques and computerized databases; work in a team environment; use good judgment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately; pay attention to detail. Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed.
