Job Description

Douglas County Libraries is currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual who can design and deliver trainings (classroom, blended, and self-paced online trainings) including but not limited to patron services, reference, databases, and information technology skills as well as interpersonal communications, and change management.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Superior interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in the application of appropriate learning theories and instructional techniques.
• Proficiency in the development, design, and maintenance of a variety of training documents and learning aids.
• An innate ability to appraise course creation quality in terms of design, writing, editing, and direction. Also conducts training needs assessment efforts before creating and designing training program.
• Naturally analytical at identifying areas of weaknesses in current courses, and employs strategies for improvement. Takes appropriate steps to address any problems noted through revisions and, when necessary, re-development of courses.
• Team player who can collaborate with the learning and development manager and the other learning and development specialists in planning, development, design, and maintenance of a variety of training documents and learning aids.
• An effective liaison between DCL branches and departments.

Starting Salary: $2,132.00 Biweekly; negotiable based on experience

We lend more than eight million books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, e-books, and audiobooks every year, including more children’s materials than any other Colorado library.

Our seven locations offer a large collection of popular materials, children’s books, reference materials, downloadable audio, video and e-books, wireless access, public computers for kids and adults, and friendly, professional staff. Study rooms and large public meeting rooms are available to the public. We offer reading programs for all ages, used book sales, more than 75 Storytimes each week, writing groups, book clubs and a wide variety of fun and interesting programs for all ages.

Online resources include research databases, homework help, the library catalog, downloadable audiobooks and e-books, account access for reserving and renewing items, reading recommendations, links to Douglas County history and community information. We also offer reference assistance via phone, email or text, and access to accounts and many services.
