Job Description

Will work 36 hours per week at the Main Branch Library in Frisco.  Must be able to work some nights and weekends.  Duties will include circulation desk, working with children, collection maintenance, cleaning and repairing DVDs and CDs, meeting room scheduling, answering patron reference and computer questions (internet, online databases), answering phones, shelving books, and other library duties.  This position will focus on assisting with programming as well as front desk duties.

Additional Info & Requirements

Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Exceptional computer skills are required, including proficiency with Email, MS Office, Internet and comfortable learning library software. Previous experience working with children imperative. Customer service and effectively interacting with public is a must. A minimum of high school education, but college degree preferred. Must be dependable and flexible, detail oriented and meticulous, a self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Should be creative and ready help plan, organize and present programs. Bilingual a plus. This is a high energy and physically demanding job that requires moving up and down stairs in a multi-level building, bending, lifting 10 – 20 pounds, moving chairs, tables and boxes of books, balancing, squatting, standing over 50% of the time, stretching and fine motor skills.
