Job Description

9-month temporary appointment

The University of Colorado Denver’s Auraria Library seeks a detail oriented 9-month temporary Firm Order Acquisitions Specialist. This position’s primary role will be to oversee the Library’s acquisition of all single-title items purchased via credit card, and direct from vendors (e.g. print books, ebooks, DVDs, CDs, streaming videos, PDF files, dissertations).

Job Overview:

  • Ordering all firm single title items (e.g. print books, ebooks, DVDs, CDs, streaming videos, PDF files, dissertations, etc.).
  • Conducts pre-order searching to determine duplicate titles and vendor selection.
  • Monitors the catalog records of shelf-ready materials and updates copy-cataloging when necessary.
  • Paying invoices in the ILS.

Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. 

Compensation: $18-$22/hr commensurate with skills and experience.

Eligibility Requirement: Students that are currently enrolled at a higher education institution are not eligible for this position. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with library vendors & systems, such as GOBI.
  • Experience with Acquisitions module of an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), such as Sierra.
  • Experience working with Cognos Systems such as Concur, Peoplesoft, and Marketplace.
