Job Description

Integrated Library System •Serve as the primary liaison to the integrated library system (Innovative Interfaces, Inc). •Responsible for the coordination of library departments with the integrated library system. Technical Services Department •Coordinate cataloging functions across library departments and branch library. •Coordinate monograph acquisitions. •Supervise staff that catalog, order, and receive materials. •Monitor book and media fund expenditures. •Responsible for cataloging and classification of materials. •Original cataloging of monographs, multimedia, serials, and electronic sources. •Oversee work with vendors in obtaining records and their import/export into the online catalog. •Perform all activities dealing with bibliographic control of library materials. •Stay abreast of new developments in the cataloging field. •Assist catalogers in interpreting cataloging rules. •Explore streamlining of acquisitions and cataloging processes. •Collaborate with the Collection Management Librarian to perform collection review and evaluation. •Prepare statistical and managerial reports. Instruction •Participate in the library’s integrated library research program. •Provide reference services both at the library’s reference desk and by appointment. General and Faculty Responsibilities •Participate in library governance via the Librarian’s Council. •Actively participate in scholarly/ professional activities appropriate to librarianship and campus and community service involvement to meet tenure requirements. •Academic advising. •Pursue professional growth and development.

Additional Info & Requirements

Required Qualifications M.L.S from an ALA accredited institution. Experience with integrated library systems. Experience with LC classification, AACR2, OCLC, MARC format, and standard cataloging practices. Experience with name, subject, and series authority control. Supervisory experience in library or educational setting. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing reference service and/or library instruction. Familiarity with all aspects of Innovative Interfaces Inc (III).
