Job Description

Leads the efforts of the Library Aide Workgroup. Facilitates the work of the Department by overseeing the daily operations of the Library Technology center help desk. Provide customer service and help desk coverage in the Library Technology Center. Manages and maintains library social media pages and LTI class calendars/scheduling. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Reports to LTI supervisor.
The salary range for this position is $20.87 - $30.28 per hour with an expected hiring range of $20.87 - $25.58, depending on qualifications and experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for outreach and programming for LTI that utilizes technology and the resources available at the Library.
  • Supervise LTI aides including scheduling, side projects, and related duties.
  • Create and maintain schedule for all LTI aides, ensuring adequate coverage during Library hours including weekends.
  • Collect, compile, and provide statistics regarding public computer lab usage and end of month reports.
  • Schedule computer classes for the public.
  • Teach individuals how to use various technology throughout the space including one-on-one appointments and classes.
  • Work with library technology manager to identify the training needs of library aides and end users.
  • Order supplies essential to the services provided at the LTI service desk.
  • Update Library social media accounts to highlight programs, services and events and engage new followers.
  • Demonstrate use of library equipment and technology including large format printers, green screens, VR, scanners, video and still cameras, public access computers, web browsers, 3D printers, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Work with LTI Supervisor to support LTI goals and mission.
  • Set up and maintain projectors and other equipment for public computing network.
  • Ensures continuity in customer service by serving as a support for the service desk & computer lab to assist library users of all ages in selecting, locating, and using Library Technology resources.
  • Schedule and monitor use of study room, internet lab and public computers in the Library Technology & Innovation Division.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • May assist with completion of activity maintenance reports for seasonal activities within the registration system.
  • Send communication from Department public facing email.
  • May assist with City Council and/or Planning Commission meetings.
  • Explain and interpret policies and procedures to the public.
  • Assists other Departments with Library LTI questions.
  • Assists with special events and projects.
  • Collect payment for services and products provided by the LTI department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Responsible for supervising and assisting in the evaluation of the performance of 3 LTI aides. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the Department and organization's policies and applicable procedures.
