Job Description
Principle Duties: Adult Services Department Head responsible for management, supervision, and administration of adult & technical services, development & maintenance of adult collections; develops & conducts events, provides reference services, supervises staff of 6. Preferred Qualifications/Requirements: ALA Accredited MLS/MLIS; minimum 4 years library experience; progressive levels of responsibility and supervision; or Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with commitment to complete MLS/MLIS in 5 years; minimum of 5 years library experience; progressive levels of responsibility. Position: Fulltime (40 hrs/wk), salaried, exempt position with benefits; salary negotiable depending on qualifications & experience.

Defiance is located in the northwest corner of Ohio, 55 miles southwest of Toledo, Ohio and 45 miles east of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The City of Defiance has an estimated population of 17,000 and serves as the County seat for Defiance County. The Defiance Public Library System has a main library and two branches servicing all of Defiance County.
