Job Description

Position: Full Time Director of Library and Learning Support Services
Responsibilities: This full-time position is responsible for the overall operations of the Lamar Community College Library and Learning Support Services. The Director will work closely with, and under the supervision of, the Dean of Academic Services. As Director of the library the position includes budget planning and oversight, library personnel management, and coordination of all library services, both face-to-face and online. This position is responsible for researching, acquiring, and implementing academic learning resources for both students and faculty. The Director will also take the lead in helping campus identify technologically minded learning.  As Director of Learning Support Services, the position is responsible for hiring and supervising all Learning Support Center staff, including Tutoring, Academic Counseling, and Testing.  The Director will lead the team in carrying out LSS annual activities and events and oversee the writing and execution of related grants including TRIO Student Support Services.
The Director will coordinate with Academic Services regarding advising and academic success initiatives and provide opportunities to enrich the academic experience of students and community members through library resources, programming, and college/community cooperative activities.  This will include developing a close working relationship with the Lamar Public Library.  As a full-time employee, the Director will participate in campus wide activities and initiatives and contribute to the life of the college as a whole.  Work hours may vary and include evening and weekend hours. 
This position requires the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, administration, and public entities; to plan, organize, lead, direct, and supervise others; to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; to understand technological trends and its application to learning.
