Job Description

  • Acts as liaison to Information Technology department;
  • Runs, manages and monitors the Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III) Millennium software for critical Library business and services;
  • Acts as liaison when appropriate to the City's I.T. Dept., makes and advises policy decisions as appropriate for Library functions, enables approved enhancements to customer services, and acts as liaison to related Colorado library community meetings and communications with Prospector, Interlibrary Loan, etc; 
  • Coordinate with the statewide library courier requirements;
  • Responds to and solves problems from staff on III related issues;
  • Maintains a high level of technical proficiency concerning all aspects of the ILS;
  • Supervises the Library's Acquisitions staff that conduct collection development activities;
  • Supervises Cataloging activities, Interlibrary Loan services, Library Division's mail room and courier activities, coordinates intrastate delivery of materials per deadlines and agreements as required to ensure continued collaboration and sharing with other library systems;
  • Supervises/coordinates the Baker & Taylor agreement for purchasing library items, as well as the delivery of online bibliographic records for the online catalog used by customers;
  • Supervises/coordinates the assessment and purchase of media (CDs, DVDs, audio books, digital books), ensuring quality, adherence to contracts, and connectivity as related to the online and digital book files;
  • Supervises/coordinates the assessment and order of reference databases, working with State agreement;
  • Participates in Library Division management decisions as related to use of III software, in particular technical changes that impact the provision of customer service;
  • Provides direct customer service as needed to customers to aid with technical issues beyond the knowledge of regular public library staff;
  • Maintains and monitors system/servers, administers interfaces with other systems;
  • Ensures performance, security and availability of databases;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
