Job Description

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Collections and Archives (C&A) division is seeking applicants for the position of Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian (R99684) at the Ottenheimer Library.

The Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian is a 12-month library faculty position with rank leading to tenure. Reporting to the Research and Scholarly Communication Coordinator, the Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian collaborates with personnel across the C&A division and throughout the university to develop and promote library services that support faculty and student research. The Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian provides in-person and online research assistance and instruction; develops online instructional materials; serves as liaison to designated academic departments; and supports researchers in the use of government data sources, statistical datasets, and data visualization.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Library/Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited school is required. A minimum of two (2) years’ professional experience in an academic library setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of business and social science resources. Knowledge of datasets and data visualization techniques. Experience with developing and providing instruction and training. Experience in developing working partnerships with academic faculty and departments and other campus communities.
