Job Description
The City of Westminster is seeking a collaborative librarian with forward vision, who loves working with teenagers! The Librarian I - Teen Services position is responsible for creating and delivering engaging programs for patrons, primarily ages 12-18, providing Reference and Readers' Advisory services for all ages, and facilitating outreach throughout the Denver Metro Region. The Teen Librarian regularly works the Reference/Information Desk, providing outstanding customer service, answering an array of technology and reference questions, and creating engaging displays to highlight the Library's collection. This role works within the City's Library Services Division, and reports to the Library Adult Services Coordinator. The majority of time is spent at the College Hill Library, with occasional collaborative programs and desk shifts at the Irving Street Library.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. Starting wages are negotiable and dependent on the qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster offers a bonus of up to $1,500 per year depending on the employee's fluency in Spanish, Hmong, and/or Laotian.
This is a part-time, benefited, position that will require some evenings and weekend shifts.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited, four-year college
- Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent by December 31, 2018
- Previous experience providing services and/or programs for teen and/or adult customers
Preferred:
- Previous library experience in a professional level position in public services
- Spanish language skills
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
