Job Description

The Branch Manager is repsonsible for ordering all necessary materials for their branch, recruitment, trainng and supervising all branch staff including volunteers; overseeing the maintenance of the library facility; conducting performance reviews for all branch staff; overseeing all programs for the branch including children's, teen and adult programs. Must provide friendly, welcoming environment and work with public to provide excellent customer service.  Branch Manager works with Library Director to oversee library policy and troubleshoot daily issues.

Branch Manager will perform a variety of complex analytical, professional, technical, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded, diverse background in the Library field and combine strong technical library expertise with exception interpersonal and administrative skills.  have at least 5 years of progressively responsible library experience & 3 years of progressive supervisory experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective use of Microsoft Office Suite inclduing Word & Excel.  Must have knowledge of library- specific software as well as strong administrative skills.

The Community

The North Branch is located next to Town Hall in the town of Silverthorne and serves a community of about 6,000 people on the North end of Summit County, located at 9,000 feet in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.  The library serves a fairly large Hispanic community with the local school being approximately half Hispanic.  Summit County is a year round resort community with skiing & snowboarding in the winter; flyfishing on the Blue River; hiking, biking, rafting, sailing on Lake Dillon. The Summit County community is a strong supporter of the arts, both performing and visual.
