Job Description
The Library Associate II – Adult Services position is responsible for a variety of paraprofessional library work including assisting the Adult Services Librarians to provide patrons with exceptional readers' advisory and reference services, technology assistance, engaging displays, programs, and outreach. This role works within the City's Library Services Division, and reports to the Library Adult Services Coordinator. The majority of time is spent at the College Hill Library, with occasional shifts at the Irving Street Library, and offsite programs, and outreach events. This is a part-time, 20 hours per week, benefited position that will work some evenings and weekends.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications
Required:
- Graduation from a two-year college or university
- Two (2) years of experience providing customer service to adults/young adults
- Valid driver's license with safe driving record
Preferred:
- Experience in public library readers' advisory/reference and/or circulation
- Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or related field
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
