Job Description

Are you a leader with experience setting the vision and goals for an organization's technological efforts?  Do you collaborate, evaluate, and continually improve technology operations?  Do you have a track record of building trust and communicating effectively with employees, cross functional teams, and government officials?  If you are ready to deliver outstanding results that contribute to the Library's success, this may be the job for you! 

Essential Duties

You will be an active member of the library's senior management team (SMT) and collaborate with a dedicated Board of Trustees. The SMT is responsible for the overall planning, policy creation, budgeting, direction, and delivery of the library's work plan and current and long range plans. Your responsibility is the direction, planning and operation of a cross functional Information Technology Team to ensure our patrons have access to resources, technology, programs and services befitting a progressive library. You will lead and direct the work of the Information Technology team. This includes responsibility and oversight of computer services and applications, systems, networks, security and communications for the libraries and administration.  As the Director of IT, you establish the vision and goals for the library's technological efforts, research and implementation of projects.  You will participate in collaborative community problem-solving and contribute to shared community outcomes.  This position reports to the Executive Director.

Additional Info & Requirements

  • 5-7 years work experience in leadership/administrative public library experience for system-wide services at a multi-location library  OR  5-7 years progressively responsible management and supervision in an IT department.
  • 3 years of experience managing a cross functional division, preferably IT focused, involving direct supervision of staff.
  • Experience in developing and overseeing a budget. 
  • Valid Colorado driver's license.
