Job Description

Branch Manager is responsible for ordering all necessary materials for their library branch, recruitment, training, and supervising all branch staff including volunteers, overseeing the maintenance of the library facility; conducting performance reviews for all branch staff; overseeing all programs for the branch including children's, teen and adult programs.  Must be able to quickly learn and effectvely use scheduling software to schedule meeting rooms.  Experience with Midas scheduliing software a plus.  Must provide a friendly, welcoming environment and work with public to provide excellent customer service.  The Branch Manager works with Library Director to oversee library policy and troubleshoot daily issues. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of general library parctices, at least five years of progressively responsible library experience & three years of progressive supervisory experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.  Must have knowledge of library specific software as well as strong administrative skills.

The Community

Silverthorne is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains at approx. 9000 ft. elevation.  The branch library serves approx. population of 6,000 people located in the North end of Summit County.  The facility is approx. 7000 sq. ft. with a Blue River meeting room that is used for library programs and booked every day for many County and State non-profit groups.  This library serves a growing Hispanic community and many of our foreign workers. The library is open 6 days a week for 48 hours.  The area is known for its fine ski areas, great hiking and biking trails, excellent trout fishing, wonderful opportunities for kayaking, canoeing and rafting.
