Job Description

Fascinated by exploring research from kinesiology to physics to family studies? Have a passion for information literacy? Talk about open access to all of your family and friends? Eager to learn from the combined 100+ years of experience of seasoned colleagues? We invite you to apply for our entry-level Science Librarian position at Joyner Library at East Carolina University!

What you’ll spend your time doing: You’ll be the face of the library to departments including, but not limited to, biology, kinesiology, geology, and chemistry. With campus priorities to increase research and grant activities, faculty will turn to you for insight into data management, impact factors, and open educational resources. Teaching undergraduate and graduate-level library instruction sessions informed by faculty collaboration, curriculum mapping, learner-centered pedagogy, and the ACRL Framework will be your bread and butter.

Who we are: You’ll be joining a department of student-centered librarians and staff who value teaching and learning in all that we do. We support the ECU community in its academic goals through services like our research desk, one-on-one consultations, and information literacy instruction sessions. We look forward to reviewing your application!
