Job Description

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Libraries invites applications for the position of Assistant Director, Reference Librarian at the Harrington Library of the Health Sciences in Amarillo, TX. We seek an enthusiastic, forward-thinking individual to join our energetic library team. Our new colleague will serve as the library liaison to the School of Pharmacy and the School of Health Professions by providing reference, research, and curriculum support to the faculty, students, and staff. This individual, who reports to the Associate Director of the Harrington Library of the Health Sciences, will contribute expertise, vision, and new ideas to our library's bibliographic instruction, collection development, and outreach activities. This position includes an opportunity for non-tenure Faculty Associate appointment in the TTUHSC School of Medicine. Librarians are expected to make positive contributions toward university service and service to the broader library profession.

Required: A Master's of Library Science from an American Library Association accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a medical library or an academic health sciences library. Supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience in providing library instruction. Database searching skills.

Preferred: Undergraduate subject credentials in the biological or health sciences. Previous experience with teaching evidence-based medicine. Knowledge of or participation in systematic reviews. Experience in embedded librarianship.

Salary: $54,632 annually. Excellent benefits including funding for professional development.
