Job Description

Hours: Part-time, 20 hrs/wk; some evenings and weekends Grade: N ($21.92 /hr – $30.42 /hr) plus part-time benefits Application Deadline: First consideration given to applications received by 3/7/2008 Department: District Support Services Reports to: Executive Director How to apply: Send Weld Library District application along with resume to: Weld Library District Attn: Human Resources 1939 61st Avenue Greeley, CO 80634 or by emailing application and resume to employment@weld.lib.co.us Role: Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs fund raising strategies for the Weld Library District and through the Weld Library District Foundation. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 25% - GRANTS – Receives grants from federal, state, and private entities by monitoring grants available, writing grant proposals, presenting grants to funding sources, monitoring compliance and approving distribution of grant money in order to raise funds for the library district through grants. 20% - SPECIAL EVENTS – Develops and coordinates special events and projects by evaluating fundraising potential of events; coordinating set up, administration and promotion of events; and evaluating effectiveness in order to raise funds for the library district though special fundraising events. 20% - FOUNDATION BOARD – Creates agendas, schedules meetings, and strategizes fund raising goals and projects in order to coordinate Foundation Board activities and meetings. 20% - DONATIONS – Raises funds through donations by contacting potential contributors via phone, mail, or in person; and persuades individuals and corporations to contribute money in order to raise funds for the library district through donations. 15% - ADMINISTRATION – Monitors expenses incurred and funds received, prepares mailings and brochures for promotion and solicitation, maintains fundraising database and financial transactions, reports activities and results of Foundation to Board of Trustees, and other duties as necessary for the smooth operation of the department. The Weld Library District is seeking a self-motivated, energetic person for fund raising coordination and grant writing. The ideal candidate will have experience getting results with fundraising activities and established relationships in the Weld County area. This position has a flexible schedule of 20 hours/week and successful candidate will work from home with District computer and cell phone.
