Job Description
The City of Westminster is seeking a technologically savvy, customer service oriented Library Associate. The Library Associate II– Public Services position is responsible for a variety of paraprofessional library work including providing exceptional reading recommendations, research services, and technology assistance. This role works within the City's Library Services Division, and shifts could be in either the Adult or Children's areas.
This position will be required to work a weekly Sunday shift and hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster offers a bonus of up to $1,500 per year depending on the employee's fluency in Spanish, Hmong, and/or Laotian.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing customer service to adults, young adults, and/or children and families
Preferred:
- College degree
- Two (2) years of general library experience working with adults, young adults, or children in a public library
- Experience in readers advisory, reference, or general library experience
- Spanish fluency
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered
