Job Description

In general, this position will: • Provide reference, referral, research and reader's advisory assistance to patrons in person and on the telephone. • Review, evaluate and recommend materials for purchase and withdrawal from the collection with special emphasis on the management of young adult materials. • Initiate and develop ongoing programming for all age groups with a primary emphasis on young adult programming. • Conduct tours, plan public events and displays. • Work with community agencies that focus on young adults to present programs and other services outside of the library. • Participate in staff meetings, committee and other meetings and task forces, including serving as a member of the Young Adult Round Table. • Supervise daily room operations and be responsible for the general appearance and safety of the young adult area. This position reports to the Head of Information Services.

Additional Info & Requirements

Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and minor holidays. The successful candidate will have familiarity with Web 2.0 and social networking concepts and uses in library settings.
