JOB PURPOSE:
Provide leadership for open scholarship, scholarly identities, research metrics, as well as open access publishing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership for open scholarship, scholarly identities, research metrics, as well as open access publishing. Serve as the lead librarian for open educational resources (OER) support, including supervision of the open textbook grant program. Participate in development of a new Digital Scholarship Center as part of the UW Libraries 2018-2022 Strategic Plan. Collaborate closely with library and university faculty and departments (including the Office of Research & Economic Development, the Honors College, and the Office of Graduate Education) to identify opportunities for open scholarship. Support the digital communications requirements of the university's undergraduate curriculum. Coordinate with library systems staff and university IT to identify and support digital platforms related to student and/or faculty scholarship. Provide training on open scholarship for librarians, staff, faculty and students. This position reports to the Head of Digital Collections.
