Job Description

Clearview Library District is seeking an innovative, service-oriented individual to join our Adult Services team as Business Development Coordinator. The Business Development Coordinator will work with the local small business community to start, grow, or develop businesses through one-on-one reference assistance, programming and outreach, and collection development. The Business Development Coordinator will work extensively in the community, attending business-oriented events, Chamber of Commerce events, and networking with local businesses and entrepreneurs. Successful candidates will be familiar with a broad range of business and economic resources in all formats, possess a strong commitment to customer service, and stay knowledgeable on the latest business trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides in-person, phone, or online business research services for local businesses and the general public.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of business resources, awareness of new resources and technologies, and the ability to effectively use and teach these resources.
  • Coordinates library presence for such business-related events as National Startup Week, National Entrepreneurship Week, Small Business Saturday, etc.
  • Conducts business community outreach by developing and maintaining relationships with community business leaders.
  • Coordinates programs and outreach events to enhance the library district’s relationship with the local business community.
  • Assists Adult Services Librarian with collection development tasks upon assessing the needs of the local business community.
  • Develops and implements strategic partnerships with community business groups, government agencies, and other appropriate organizations.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May plan and conduct programs of general interest to the community.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in one-on-one meetings with supervisor
  • Meet with the Friends and Foundation on a regular basis to work on common goal of establishing connections with businesses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience developing small business services and resources strongly preferred.

Able to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
