Job Summary:The Collections and Resource Management Librarian is a department-head level position. This librarian will lead, administer and coordinate the operations of the Collections and Resource Management Department including acquisitions, e-resources, serials, materials processing, cataloging, collection development, and systems operations (Innovative Interfaces' Sierra). This promotion-track, ranked faculty position develops the Library’s materials budget, supervises library faculty and staff positions, seeks out innovative processes to streamline operations, and pursues opportunities to expand resources through collaboration and the adoption of new technologies. As a member of the library's leadership team, the Collections and Resource Management Librarian participates in collaborative decision-making, library management, and strategic planning.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides innovative and collaborative leadership for the department, managing finances and resources to ensure efficient operations, while also fostering an environment in which the department and its members can thrive and grow.
2. Shares responsibility with the Dean of Library and other Department Heads in providing vision and leadership in moving the library forward to best serve the research and scholarship needs of our diverse student base.
3. Supervises the functional operations of acquisitions, e-resources, serials, materials processing, cataloging, collection development, and systems operations (Innovative Interfaces' Sierra).
4. Manages a collections budget of over $1.4 million, including monitoring and reporting on database, print, and e-book expenditures for budget control.
5. Manages acquisitions, licensing, and renewals of library collections to ensure that materials are made available in a timely manner. Serves as the point of contact for vendors, initiates trials, and spearheads contract negotiations. Participates in consortium-wide purchases.
6. Collaborates broadly with colleagues to ensure that library materials are readily discoverable and accessible to meet users' needs, including assisting with e-resource support and troubleshooting.
7. Supervises two library faculty and two staff positions.
8. Gathers use statistics and prepares monthly and annual reports to support decision making both internally and externally.
9. Attends external committees, including committees at The Alliance.
10. Manages gift donations, including coordination with donors and bibliographers.
11. Supervises the physical processing of a Federal Depository Library Program.
12. Develops professionally as a faculty member through activities such as research projects, publications, and service to the profession and to the University.
13. Serves on library and university-wide committees, participates in professional organizations, and provides service to the community.
1. ALA-accredited Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent advanced degree required.
2. Minimum five years of professional library experience.
3. Minimum three years of supervisory experience.
4. Minimum two years of experience in a library resource management (or technical services) department in one or more of the following areas: acquisitions, serials, cataloging, collections management, e-resource management.

2. Experience in resource management (or technical services) department, in an academic library.
