Job Description

Work at the Central Library in the Books and Borrowing Department. Create forms, statistical reports, spreadsheets, and collection status reports to support department operations. Assist in developing, documenting and adhering to system-wide best practices related to collection maintenance. Provide excellent customer service, in person and via telephone. Perform database maintenance, collection maintenance, cash reporting, and supply ordering to support department operations.  Coordinate copier and printer maintenance. Collaborate with co-workers across job levels and work units to support various projects and initiatives.

Although the full salary range for this position is provided, starting salary is typically made at or near the range minimum.  The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered. 

The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and will include evening and weekend hours.

Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Skill in operating a computer, including MS Word. Excel, and Google products. Ability to work with attention to detail and to make simple mathematical computations. Ability to work with computer databases, including report creation and analysis. Skill in interpreting, communicating and presenting information. Ability to creatively solve problems, multi-task and prioritize. Ability to thrive working in an environment with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups. Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and a sense of humor in working with customers and coworkers. Ability to use technology including email, internet, databases, and other software. Ability to pass a background check after the offer to hire has been made.

A high school diploma or equivalency.

Two years clerical experience.

Experience working with integrated library system software (preferred, not required).
