Job Description

This is a part-time professional library position in the Broomfield Children's Library. This part-time position is scheduled as needed and does include benefits. Schedule will vary and includes days, evenings and weekends. 

We are a busy Family Place Library that is a community destination for families to play and learn together. We have a central focus on early literacy, but we serve all children from birth - 12 years and their parents or caregivers. 

You will work in partnership with other employees, departments/divisions, external entities, and the public in delivering effective and innovative services. Experience delivering STEAM programs and Spanish fluency is preferred.

This position will spend half their time on our busy reference desk and is also responsible for creating, staffing and presenting programming for children birth - 12 years, parents and adults working with children.

Scope of Work

Responds to outreach requests as schedule allows.

Plans, organizes, and coordinates a wide range of activities for Children's Library programs to achieve goals within available resources.

Helps maintain Children's Library and Family Place area.

Assists parents and other adults in selection of appropriate children's material.

Assists children using the library and its resources.

Provides reader's advisory service for children and families.

Is fully present. Gives customer their full attention and demonstrates a commitment to offer the best customer service.

Possesses knowledge of library services, including practical experience in library services and programs.
