Job Description

LIBRARY TECHNICIAN III - Government Publications Library - Supervisor, Inventory and Item Conversion Project G3C4XN POSTING 804550 for position #685410 Paygrade G42 ($3,128 - $4,383) Nature of Work: This position exists to supervise the inventory/item conversion unit; to set unit priorities, workflow, and division of tasks; to assign ongoing and project work; to design and implement procedures in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Depository Library Program and the Cataloging and Metadata Services department. The position also develops training materials and documentation for the project; hires and evaluates personnel; coordinates the unit's work with other units in the Department and with other departments in the Libraries. The position is also responsible for solving cataloging problems and performing some original and complex copy cataloging for federal government publications in a variety of formats.

Applications must be received by July 8, 2008 To Apply: Please visit the following website and SEARCH for POSTING 804550: www.jobsatcu.com Minimum Requirements: Four years of full-time (or equivalent) cataloging experience, using MARC formats, AACR2 and Library of Congress (LC) Rule Interpretations, and LC Subject Headings along with experience cataloging on OCLC and in an integrated library system which must have included at least one year of supervisory experience. Highly Desirable: The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the Superintendent of Documents classification system, GPO Cataloging Guidelines, GPO List of Classes, GPO Superseded List. Knowledge of the Innovative Interfaces Millenium and OCLC Connection software and experience with serials cataloging are highly desired. Substitution: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library cataloging experience. **Please Note: If education is used to meet the minimum requirements, you must submit a transcript copy by the closing date.** Necessary Special Qualifications: Note: The University of Colorado at Boulder is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community.
