DESCRIPTION:

The Broomfield Library is looking for a native Spanish speaker to join us in growing our services to the Broomfield Community. This part-time position is generally scheduled 10-12 hours/week and will work on-site at library events at Centennial Elementary School, Garden Center Apartments, and other community sites. The ideal candidate has a passion for reaching Spanish speaking Broomfield residents This position is not eligible for benefits. Schedule will vary and include days, evenings and weekends.  

The Broomfield Library has a central focus on early literacy, but serves all children from birth - 12 years and their parents, caregivers and educators. We are a busy Family Place Library that is a community destination for families to play and learn together. Identifying and reaching out to new and underserved communities enables the library to engage and build trust with new families.

This position will spend the majority of their time at scheduled outreach engagements in the Broomfield community, outreach events in collaboration with community partners, and building a relationship with underserved community members who do not currently use the Broomfield Library. The position requires bilingual English and Spanish speaking, writing and reading fluency to form relationships and identify the needs of the Spanish speaking community living in Broomfield.
