Job Description
The Whatcom County Library System seeks an energetic, innovative and dynamic Youth Services Librarian to deliver specialized, professional library service to children and/or teens, and their families, in libraries, in schools, and wherever young people are to promote reading, curiosity, information literacy, and library use. We are looking for a self-motivated, problem solving, creative individual who can facilitate a team, establish community relationships, organize and develop planning, and connect with youth and their families. Requires Master’s Degree and three years of relevant experience; Master in Library Science and Librarian certification preferred. Experience working with youth is required; Spanish language fluency a plus. Full-time position. Beginning compensation of $4,587 per month, plus excellent benefits. Currently located at the Lynden Library in Whatcom County, Washington, with the potential for reassignment to another WCLS location to balance Youth Services across the library system.
