Job Description

The Computer and Networking Specialist works to help make the library a cutting-edge, vital community center, serving the public, and advancing library services. This employee is responsible for providing hardware and software support for all desktop and laptop computers, servers, devices, tablets, printers, networks, wireless access points, audio/visual, security cameras, and other equipment. The job tasks include installation, troubleshooting, repair, and configuration of equipment. The Computer and Networking Specialist will ensure that the library’s technological resources can sustain the ongoing day-to-day demands of the library as well as the delivery of its services and programs. The position requires a hands-on, well-organized team member, who is detail-oriented and will evaluate, implement, and manage information technology resources. This person will train staff on the proper use of equipment and assist the public in understanding technology. This employee will network with other professionals to stay current on technology trends. This employee will also serve the general public during scheduled service desk shifts.
