Job Description

Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) is an innovative organization that values new ideas, diversity, creative solution finding, optimism, and interpersonal respect.  With a recent boost in revenue, the District has a healthy library materials budget to continue building a well planned, diverse, and community-engaging collection in formats that satisfy all our residents' needs; and a robust collection of streaming services. This is an ideal position for the individual who sees the value in making access to information easier for everyone; enjoys serving internal and external customers; and collaborates well within and outside the organization with an amazing team of professionals.

The District is growing and evolving and is looking for a strong Library Collections Manager to join our team.  This position makes recommendations to the District's executive leadership team, attends the monthly Library Board meeting as needed, and may represent the District on external committees and task forces as needed.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Executive Director, the Library Collections Manager manages circulation, collection, acquisitions, and technical services; overseeing the management of cataloging, processing, and distribution of new materials for the District; and hiring, training, managing, and evaluating all Library Collections staff on all applicable library collections functions.

The Library Collections Manager strives to provide outstanding customer service to all District staff, maintains excellent rapport with contractors and vendors, and treats all individuals within and outside the District with courtesy and respect at all times.

This position requires a four-year college or university degree; three years of experience in library technical services, publishing industry, or related experience; and at least two years of previous management experience; MLS or MLIS degree from a graduate library school accredited by ALA is preferred.

This is a full-time exempt position.  The pay range for this position is $52,000 - $66,560 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and employer contribution to retirement fund; paid vacation, sick, and holidays.
