SchoolColorado School of Mines seeks a self-motivated individual to establish a robust research data management program at the University. Reporting to the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, the part-time Research Data Curator plays a central role in developing services and policies in support of Mines research enterprise. The position will work closely with library, information technology, and other administrative staff to develop and implement a campus-wide data management plan.
Located in Golden, Colorado, at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and just minutes away from downtown Denver, Mines is a public university with an enrollment of over 5,000 students in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in engineering and applied science.
Master's Degree
Required is a Master’s degree by date of appointment in science, information science, or related data-intensive discipline, or a Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience with commonly used data repository platforms (DSpace, Fedora, DigiTool)
• Experience with metadata scripting languages (Java, Python, PHP)
• Experience working with relevant metadata standards (e.g. DC, DDI, FGDC, ISO, SMDX) as well as preservation standards and best practices
