OtherInternship Description: The Lambi Fund of Haiti seeks the assistance of a part-time, temporary Records Management Intern to develop a digital library of its existing records that will enable user-friendly access to a large, broad set of electronic materials. This position will report to the Program Associate and the Digital Outreach Manager.
Hours: Approximately 5-10 hours per week.
Wage: This is an unpaid position, but it may be eligible to fulfill an internship requirement.
Location: This position requires telecommuting (working remotely from home), with occasional face-to-face or virtual meetings with Lambi Fund staff. As such, the Records Management Intern is required to have access to the Internet, and may set a work schedule to best accommodate his or her needs.
Internship Duties:
• Collaborate with Lambi Fund staff to understand the scope of existing records
• Design a record categorization and naming schema appropriate for the organization
• Collect existing records from a variety of electronic sources across the organization
• Organize and archive existing records
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s Candidate in Library and Information Science or similar degree
• Completion of at least one graduate-level course in records management or archival work
• Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail
• Strong computer skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience collecting and cataloging large material sets
• Familiarity with SharePoint and/or SugarSync
• Experience working for a non-profit organization
• Interest in sustainable agriculture or Haiti
• Working knowledge of French and/or Haitian Creole
