PublicWill work assigned hours, 8-12 per week, at the Adult Services reference desk. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Serve at the public reference desk in assigned department, interviews patrons by telephone or in person responding to service requests. Locate information in assigned area using computerized databases and library tools. Accompany patrons to the book or audio-visual resources and instruct patrons in the use of library resources. Recommend resources for purposes of education, information, or recreational reading. Provide general administrative and technical support related to various Library functions and customer service. Assist in conducting Library tours and presenting programs.
Longmont is a small city of 85,000 located near Longs Peak. Boulder is 15 miles away and Denver is located 40 miles from Longmont.
Associate's Degree
Bachelor's Degree
2 years of professional experience preferred
2 years of library experience required
2 years of library experience preferred
Spanish is Preferred
Knowledge of public library reference skills. Ability to work with staff and patrons. Understanding of what good customer service looks like.
