ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Delivers Consistent Quality Customer Experience - Communicate expectations to staff about library service and trends in customer service
· Work involves providing information to patrons in-person, by phone, mail and via electronic means.
· Performs simple to moderately complex research activities; advises patrons on appropriate materials; locates materials through the use of manual and electronic databases in JCPL, other library systems, or other sources.
· Refers patrons to community resources and other appropriate resources for further information as necessary; and advises about on-line searching.
· Advises and instructs library patrons in using equipment necessary to access library resources.
· Uses high-level customer service skills to determine patron needs and create a positive, inviting atmosphere for all patrons.
· May present programming training or classes to the public, both on and off site.
· Supervision and Training - Hires, assigns, trains, orients, and supervises staff in area of responsibility, including coaching on industry best practices.
· Prepares and submits routine reports as necessary for library management
· Participates with others in cross-functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives
