Williams College Libraries seeks a collaborative, user-centered staff member to coordinate our monograph acquisitions. We believe that our collections are a vital component of how we develop inclusive library services for our increasingly diverse community. In this newly-revised position, you will help develop collections that support evolving academic priorities and an inclusive community with diverse needs.
The successful candidate will embrace a flexible, responsive approach to coordinating the purchase, licensing, and receipt of current and out-of-print monographs in all languages and formats for the College Libraries. This is a full-time, year-round, support staff position, reporting to the Head of Collections and Systems.

Responsibilities
● Acquire monographic materials including print and electronic books, music scores, and physical and streaming audiovisual materials
● Receive items ordered and process invoices for payment
● Administer and coordinate licensing for one-time-purchases of film and streaming video
● Administer and manage Gobi system and profile
● Administer and coordinate library donations
● Contribute to department documentation
Qualifications
While we anticipate that many applicants will have earned a bachelor’s degree and may have previously worked in library acquisitions, applicants with an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience are warmly invited to apply for this position.
Required:
● Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, publishers, staff, faculty, and students
● Ability to search efficiently for new library materials to purchase
● Ability to understand and evaluate licenses for film and streaming media
● Ability to use common online translation tools with foreign languages
● Ability to organize and prioritize detailed tasks and to work independently
● Ability to use common office productivity software
● Ability to unpack boxes of books and move heavily loaded book-trucks, with or without accommodations
● 1+ years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:
● Experience working in the Ex Libris Alma library platform
● Familiarity with spreadsheet applications
