Job Description

The Auraria Library is hiring a Stacks Supervisor to join Auraria Library’s Collection Development and Strategies Department. This is a term-limited contract position for a 2-year contract. This position will, under the direction of the Serials and Stacks Manager, lead collection maintenance projects with a focus on improving the stacks for accessibility. The Stacks Supervisor will also be responsible for training student employees, repairing books, assisting with book displays, shelving, inventorying, shifting, and shelf-reading. This service-oriented staff member will be an integral member of the Collection Development and Strategies Department which leads efforts for the strategic selection, acquisition, development, management, and assessment of high-quality, diverse, inclusive, and equitable Learning Material collections in all formats and across all disciplines to support the learning, research, teaching, and administration needs of students, staff & faculty of the Auraria campus.

Located in downtown Denver, Colorado, the Auraria Campus is home to three institutions of higher education – the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver – both MSU Denver and CCD are Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), and CU Denver is working toward HSI and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander (AANAPISI) designations. The Auraria Library serves the campus’ of over 35,000 students, the majority of whom are from the first-generation in their family to enroll in higher education. Most of the students are Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color, and we also serve large populations of veterans, transfer students, adult learners, and other populations that have been historically underserved.
