HOURS & SALARY: Full-time, 38 hours per week, with a
pay range of $67,594 – $101,392 annually. Hiring range of $67,594 – $92,943
annually, depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Provides leadership at the organization level
and for the Outreach & Engagement Division. (20%)
2.
Develops and manages the division vision, goals,
budgets, strategic plans, and workplans, and contributes to the broader
systemwide planning and budgeting. (20%)
3.
Engages with diverse communities to build
awareness and use of library resources, services, and events. Improves patrons’
awareness and accessibility to library events and services as well as a feeling
of a sense of community and inclusion. (20%)
4.
Hires, trains, directs, coaches, and evaluates
professional librarians and staff. Promotes a culture of collaboration,
creativity, respect and accountability with a team approach. (20%)
5.
Builds and maintains strategic community
partnerships to further library goals. (20%)
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Assesses the impact of the division’s work
through evaluation and adjusts accordingly.
·
Represents the library and serves as a liaison
to various organizations and institutions in the community and across
professional organizations.
·
Serves as Manager on Duty during assigned
shifts, including weekend rotations, responds to incidents, enforcing library
rules with a leadership team and overseeing library operations.
·
Develops and maintains an awareness of new
literature, technologies, trends and advances in the profession; participates
in related professional activities and meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
& Experience: Master’s degree and a minimum of four years of
increasingly responsible professional experience with community outreach and/or
literacy or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory
Experience: Four years of supervisory experience, including hiring,
training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Cross
Cultural Experience: Experience working with a wide diversity of people
from different communities and cultures, engaging them in the work of an
organization, and building collaborative working relationships.
Partnership
Experience: Experience building and maintaining mutually beneficial
partnerships with community organizations to deliver programming that meets
community needs.
A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are
required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
·
Experience working with diverse communities
and/or other English language learning communities. Bilingual skills are a
plus.
·
Knowledge of 21st century public library trends,
including adult and children’s literacy.
·
Experience leveraging volunteers to strengthen
the overall impact of an organization.

WORK SCHEDULE
Work schedule will predominantly be normal business hours
(8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or a variation thereof) Monday through
Friday but may consist of weekend and evening hours as well. Anyone who
works for the library must be willing to work anytime the library is open. Laramie
County Library (Cheyenne) open hours are Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00
p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. All employees are
scheduled to attend monthly staff meetings and in-service days in Cheyenne.

the Wyoming Retirement System (WRS). WRS is a pension plan that will pay
lifetime benefits, regardless of the account balance, when age and service
requirements are met.

This position receives paid time off for 13
holidays, vacation and sick leave, and an annual personal day.

Vacation leave starts at two weeks per year for
full-time employees and increases with years of service. Employees are eligible
to take vacation after six months of employment.

Medical insurance and a separate dental plan are
available. LCLS pays 85% of medical and dental insurance premiums.

A deferred compensation plan, prepaid legal
services agreement, vision coverage, and other supplemental insurance options
are also available at the employee’s expense.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Light work in an office environment and
regularly in the community or at community organization sites and/or events.
·
Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally,
and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force
constantly to move objects. Performing repetitive motions. Grasping, lifting
and/or raising objects from a lower to a higher position, or moving objects
horizontally from position-to position.
