Job title: Anythinker in Motion (part customer service, part Anythink ambassador, part mover and shaker)

Job description:   You are part of our mobile library team, bringing library services to our communities through Anythink in Motion. You promote library services and offerings and provide fabulous customer experiences by warmly greeting people with a smile, helping them with holds, or showing them how to navigate our website. As you bring our materials out to our customers’ neighborhoods, you earn trust by being knowledgeable about our products and making recommendations that connect with the customer. You help them find the fuel and the spark to unlimited ideas and opportunities. You are an Anythinker in Motion, helping people take their imagination anywhere it wants to go.

• You are the connector between customers and the products they love. You pull the holds list and return expired holds, ensuring our products get where they are going.
• You represent Anythink at community events, festivals and other activities by engaging and interacting with people from our community.
• You are a genius when it comes to moving materials through the system; you process the daily delivery and get it onto the bookmobile quickly. You can trace items, claim returns and get them to their correct location.
• You enjoy being on the move; you will lift, stretch and push to bring the Anythink experience to our customers.
• You love meeting and inspiring new people. You enjoy talking about and offering meaningful recommendations of the latest books, movies and music.
• You are a great host of district-wide programs, you have amazing ideas for creating Anythink services and programs on the road.
• You have a mind for safety. As a driver, you perform all the safety checks to prepare the bookmobile for the road. At each destination, you check off your safety processes to ensure a safe landing and launching of our 36-foot vessel.
• You are a wizard at making our library customers feel welcome; you register them for a library card, help them with a fee, request a book through ILL, or walk them through their basic computer needs.
• You are comfortable with computers; you can help our library customers with their basic computer needs, including e-mail, answering Microsoft product questions, and navigating the Internet.
• You have great ideas to share on district committees.
• You are a lifelong learner, enjoying your journey of professional development.
• You are the person the library customer recognizes and seeks out to say hello. You are the go-to person to help them over the phone and identify collection needs based on customer comments.
• You do the right thing. Every decision you make and action you take is an opportunity to demonstrate our collective integrity.

Do you have what it takes?

• High school degree, some college preferred
• Computer literacy with MS office proficiency preferred
• You have a good driving history and strong sense of responsibility to drive the 36ft bookmobile and the van
• You can pass a drug test and a non-DOT physical exam
• You are up for a physically demanding job as you load and unload books for the bookmobile
• You enjoy working with people of all ages
• Library or bookstore experience preferred

Your job will involve you being "on the move" in our libraries: You will stand, walk, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Expect evening and weekend shifts as part of your schedule.
