Library Aide - Computer Room and Nonfiction Collection

The Library Aide works in the Adult Services Department assisting users with the library computers and helping to maintain the nonfiction collection. May work in other areas when needed.
Applicants who reply by February 28 will be tested and interviewed first.
The hours of this position are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5 pm to 9 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. The payrate is $16.19 to start, increasing to $16.73 after six months and $17.28 after one year.
The Pawtucket Library uses the Library of Congress Classification system to shelf materials for it's nonfiction materials. A knowledge of decimals is required for this position. Information about the Library of Congress Classification system will be provided to the applicants.
A short test will be given to all applicants. The test will cover:
Filing alphabetically
Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division
How to shelf using the Library of Congress Classification system
Microsoft Office Suite
Successful candidate hat to pass a BCI check.
Vacation and sick leave after a six months probationary period and personal time after one year.
