Job Description

The City and County of Broomfield's Library, Arts, History and CSU Extension department has an opening for a bilingual (Spanish/English) 29-hour part-time benefited inventHQ Makerspace Associate. We are seeking a high performing, innovative, and team-focused individual who has a passion for learning, creating, and collaborating. 

This position works 29 hours per week Tuesday through Saturday: Tu/Th 12:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Fr/Sa 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. Some additional evening hours may be required. The hiring range is $24.47 - $33.11/hour, and Broomfield offers excellent benefits.

Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties
In this position you will help children and adults use makerspace tools, equipment and software during drop-in public Open Hours. You will greet new patrons and give them a tour of the space, chat with them about projects they would like to make, help them safely use tools, and connect them to learning resources. Outside of drop-in Open Hours, you may help with machine maintenance, staffing programs and preparing materials for them, working with volunteers, editing and testing tutorials and performing other administrative duties.

Additional Info & Requirements
  • 1 year of experience working with a variety of makerspace tools and machinery (such as laser cutters, 3D printers, electronic cutting machines, sublimation printers, and/or hobby electronics) - required.

  • Experience working with children - preferred

  • Experience teaching complex technology -preferred
