Job Description
Searches for, locates and retrieves information/materials in answer to reference questions in person, by phone, and by email; explains to patrons the use of equipment including the online catalog, databases, the Internet, microform reader-printers and scanner. Coordinates programs and outreach events; participates in collection development for the department including selection, and weeding of library materials in assigned area; and compiles and updates department reference and marketing material.
General Adult Reference:
Orders, receives, processes and sends interlibrary loan materials; creates and updates reader’s advisory information; creates book and special displays.
Business Center Support:
Educates patrons on business reference resources; teaches programs on Business Center and library resources. Conducts community outreach; develops and maintains relationships with the Loveland business community.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Proctors examinations; organizes and moderates monthly book discussion groups; orders and maintains state and federal tax forms annually; indexes the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald; troubleshoots simple computer problems; shelves and shelf reads; enters and deletes reserves on database; renews materials; assists patrons with questions and requests; opens and closes division.

Searches for and sends genealogical information as requested; processes and displays newspapers and magazines; teaches programs on library resources.
Business Center Support:
Orders, receives, processes and sends interlibrary loan material; creates book and special displays.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Supervises volunteers
Additional Info & Requirements
Knowledge of library reference tools, of standard library cataloging systems, and standard library methodology. Ability to conduct a reference interview, locate information in print and online resources and effectively communicate with public and staff. Must possess effective presentation skills. Previous experience with Microsoft Office required.
