Location: Various Arapahoe Library District library locations as needed.
Starting Salary: Starting at $41,885 to $52,357 per year, plus benefits, dependent upon qualifications and other factors.
Hours: Full-time, exempt-level position. Ability to work evenings and weekends, required.
Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic professional to join the expert team of Information Service librarians! The ideal candidate will have a track record of success and a passion to run with the best, assisting patrons with advanced search needs in all areas, identifying beta/cutting edge technologies and developing innovative services for our patrons, featuring Google Glass, Oculus Rift, Leap Motion technology, 3D printers and scanners and other novel and experimental hardware and software.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
60% ADVANCED SEARCH ASSISTANCE - Conducts patron interviews, employs search strategies, provides advanced reference and reader\'s advisory services, mentors staff, and recommends resources in order to satisfy patron requests of an advanced nature.
40% SERVICE DEVELOPMENT - Identifying, evaluating, implementing and teaching the use of new and current technologies to improve information access to support the library\'s mission. Implements and manages digital technologies (e.g. podcasting, digital recording, and conversion projects) and assists with awareness of multimedia resources for patrons and staff.

Additional Info & Requirements
Minimum of two years of similar or related experience, required.
Master\'s Degree in Library Science, required.
Intermediate knowledge and experience in music, video and digital multimedia.
Excellence in written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
Evidence of ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a changing environment.
Familiarity with copyright law and licensing issues as they pertain to video and sound recordings.
Experience with grant-writing, preferred.
Experience in public service, including the ability to interact effectively with patrons and staff.
Advanced technology skills, including advanced assessment scores for Windows, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Outlook, and Millennium, required.
Ability to travel to other work/library locations, as needed, required.
Ability to be mobile 100% of the time and sit as needed; ability to bend, stoop, reach, and push a loaded wheeled book truck weighing up to 100 pounds, 10% of the time, required.
Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, required.
Committed to provide outstanding and personalized customer service to patrons, coworkers and customers.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of library and information science theory, information creation, organization, and delivery as it applies to the Arapahoe Library District.
Ability to exhibit leadership skills including critical thinking, active listening, risk taking, and creativity, regardless of position within the organization structure.
Ability to exhibit an understanding of the importance of a multidisciplinary and cross-functional approach to programs and projects within the organization.
Ability to communicate openly, directly, clearly and respectfully with customers and colleagues to advance the interests of the library.
Ability to comfortably present information in a clear and engaging manner in dealing with customers and colleagues one-on-one or in groups, in formal and informal settings.
Ability to focus on the customer, show integrity, be inclusive, enjoy learning and have fun.
Ability to exercise confidence and excitement in the vast technological and online resources the Library District has available.
The Community
Established in 1966, the Arapahoe Library District serves more than 200,000 residents living in Arapahoe County. Arapahoe County and other major suburban counties make up the greater metropolitan area surrounding Denver, Colorado.
The Arapahoe Library District operates eight branch libraries, an Outreach Service that provides mobile library services, and a library at the County Detention Center, funded by the Arapahoe County Sheriff\'s Department. A seven-member Board of Trustees sets the library budget and determines policy.
