Job Description
You provide an amazing instructional experience to each and every customer by helping them understand library resources and the world of technology. You are warm and friendly and you engage well with others. You are passionate about providing exemplary customer service including presenting classes and one-on-one instruction. You are interested in technology and delight in learning about the newest and greatest new electronic devices. You enjoy driving – especially large vehicles – and can oversee the routine fueling, upkeep and maintenance of a motor vehicle. Work involves presenting training, classes and programming to the public, both on and off site, including on the library’s mobile computer lab, and may include advising about online searching. The incumbent uses high-level instructional skills to determine patron needs and create a positive, inviting and non-threatening learning atmosphere for all patrons. Under the direction of the Patron Education Coordinator the Patron Experience Associate Instructor -Driver assists in the development and implementation of educational opportunities that support and develop skills needed to engage in civic life. This includes enhancing the ability of county residents to understand and incorporate digital information, and electronic resources and devices in their daily lives. The Instructor-Driver delivers information and assists patrons by providing training classes in group settings. He or she provides expert assistance in a positive and supportive manner that encourages individuals to expand their knowledge of, and comfort with, information and resources available in all forms including digital formats. This Associate is knowledgeable of library collections and resources, as well as library programs, and encourages patrons to explore these library services. Duties and responsibilities include: · Follows JCPL standards and procedures for patron education. Provides clear and appropriate instruction to patrons with a variety of knowledge and skill levels. Keeps abreast of county activities and trends that will impact the learning needs of residents. Instructs patrons on the use of computer programs and electronic devices. · Instructs patrons on the use of popular online and electronic resources. · Instructs patrons on the use of library electronic resources, including the web site, library web content, library databases, and staff generated information. Troubleshoots problems and issues with computers, tablets, e-Readers, mobile devices, etc. Contributes to maintaining and updating existing class materials, and to the creation of new classes. Informs library staff of activities and projects that affects their work or service to the public. · Possesses a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Colorado and drives the library’s mobile computer lab to locations throughout Jefferson County. · Maintains logs and records associated with the mobile computer lab and works with County Fleet for appropriate service and repair of the vehicle.

Must have valid driver\'s license, if you are from out of state, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver\'s license within 30 days of hire date and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years
