Job Description

The University of Colorado Denver’s Auraria Library seeks a forward thinking and collaborative 9-month temporary Interlibrary Loan and Acquisitions Coordinator. This position’s primary role will be to support the selection-to-access workflow of packages and databases purchased directly or from the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries and to maintain, develop, and implement interlibrary loan services that support the teaching, research, and learning for faculty, staff, and students on the Auraria campus.

Job Overview:

  • Works with licenses for packages and databases acquired directly and via the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries. This includes reviewing licenses, coordinating review with University Procurement, maintaining ERM or equivalent data sources for license information, and maintaining license record management files.
  • Manages the interlibrary loan systems including ILLiad, WorldShare ILL, and Rapid. This includes overseeing upgrades & migrations, updating the OCLC Policies Directory, OCLC Service Configuration, maintaining statistical data, overseeing billing, evaluating and implementing addons.
  • Oversees the work of interlibrary loan student employees and actively participates in ILL request fulfillment as needed.
  • Identifies and solves problems and actively evaluates, identifies, suggests, and implements improvements for acquisitions and ILL, such as improving fill rates, ILL for ebooks, Demand Driven Acquisitions, and marketing.

Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. 

Compensation: $18-$22/hr commensurate with skills and experience. 

Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.

Eligibility Requirement: Students that are currently enrolled at a higher education institution are not eligible for this position. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interlibrary loan experience.
  • Experience working with library vendors & systems, such as ProQuest.
  • Experience with Acquisitions module of an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), such as Sierra.
