The Department Head position manages the Adult Services department, including the hiring, training, coaching and development of staff. The position is responsible for effective patron service, including reference, readers' advisory, basic circulation and accounts, assistance with technology, program implementation, outreach and community engagement. This position is also responsible for assisting the Branch Manager with professional and managerial duties in the operation of the branch, in cooperation with other professional staff. This position may act on behalf of the branch in the absence or unavailability of the Branch Manager. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment and initiative.

Additional Info & Requirements
  • Minimum of two-year previous library management experience preferably in a public library is preferred. Public Services experience is preferred. At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred
