The Education & Reference Department at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Library seeks a temporary Reference & Education Librarian for a six-month appointment from July through December 2018. This position reports to the Head of Education & Reference. Primary emphasis will be to plan, design, and teach library classes and demonstrations and to provide general reference by staffing the AskUs service as well as conducting one-on-one and small group consultations. Common reference and instruction topics include searching medical databases (i.e., PubMed, CINAHL), EndNote citation management, and an introduction to library resources. A qualified individual may also participate in the work of the Literature Search Team, conducting professional-level literature reviews.
Required:
- Experience providing virtual and face-to-face library reference services;
- Knowledge of or experience teaching and developing real-time and/or asynchronous instructional sessions for adult learners;
- Excellent oral and written skills.
Preferred:
- Experience providing consultations on library resources or information management;
- Experience conducting professional-level literature searches;
- Knowledge of biomedical information resources;
- Experience working in a health sciences, academic, research, or life sciences library, or previous experience in a health profession;
- Experience creating and maintaining instructional web content.
