Job Description
A. Work with the CDE leaders and staff, BOCES, CLiC, School Library Leaders, and other state and national library and educational technology organizations to improve school library services and personnel so that Colorado students engage in meaningful learning and excel on assessment. B. Provide consultation services and assistance to school librarians, school administrators, and other school personnel in Colorado to improve school library programs resources, and instructional practices that contribute to student academic achievement. C. Develop and promote standards, best practices, and accountability measures for use by school libraries, school administrators, and the CDE to improve school library services, funding, and support at local, regional, and statewide levels. D. Develop and conduct workshops on instruction, teacher collaboration, program planning, and other areas of professional development for school library staff to improve school library programs and support students in academic achievement as measured through local and state assessments. E. Working with the Power Libraries Board, coordinate Power Libraries Program activities as needed to insure excellence and sustainable outcomes for teacher librarians, students, and schools served by the program. F. Coordinate and participate in continuing education and professional development activities for school library staff, teachers, administrators, and other librarians that promote the value and role of the school library program in improving student achievement. G. Promote and facilitate multi-type library cooperation to improve services, instruction, and materials for student achievement. H. Other duties as assigned.Additional Info & Requirements
Required: - At least four (4) years post-graduate experience in a school as a teacher librarian or equivalent. - Willingness and ability to travel 25% of work time in Colorado and have or obtain a valid Colorado drivers license. Preferred: • Knowledge and experience in standards-based instruction and assessment. • Experience in staff development and training. • Knowledge of the new CDE standards and their application at school district, building, and library levels. • Exemplary verbal, organizational, and written skills. • Ability to facilitate initiatives by working cooperatively, collaboratively, and effectively with others. • Ability to plan and implement statewide school library initiatives. • Understanding of role of the school library in developing 21st Century instruction, learning, and skill development. • Experience in coordinating teams for impactful programs and services.HR Info
