Job Description
The IT department at Douglas County Libraries has a great job opportunity for the right candidate. The P/T (20 hrs/wk) Technology Support Technician will perform the following work duties: • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, inventory duties and repair of PCs at all locations in the District. • Develop long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware and software needs. • Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or emails regarding technical problems. • Perform regular maintenance and repair of PCs at all branches. • Perform setup and installation of computer hardware and software, and assist with software upgrades and resolution of complex desktop problems.Additional Info & Requirements
Starting salary is $15.15/hr, some benefits are available. Salary could be increased depending on skills and experience. • The position requires excellent technical knowledge of routine PC and desktop hardware and software installation and troubleshooting for a variety of computer applications. • Excellent technical knowledge of PC internal components is required. • Must have hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience. • Must demonstrate comfort with workstations and operating system software, and must be able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides. • Top candidates will possess proactive and professional customer service skills and strong communication skills. Must be able to present information in user-friendly language. • Applicable work experience is required. • Regular travel between the DCL branches will be required, but the position will be based out of the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock. • Candidates must be able to work a mix of days, evenings and weekends. • Knowledge or familiarity with library circulation systems, public-access computing systems, and self-service and RFID systems is desired.The Community
